Snow 'shruti' white's leftist outlook has influenced them all, they have their own union, their wages are indexed (tried asking them about the consumer price index applicable to a forest but they werent concerned with such trivialities), and theyve put up posters of Marx all over the woods.
The queen had been killed by George Bush cause the apple was considered a weapon of mass destruction, the nation was in a state of civil war....
Hopefully the prince, also the general secretary of the UN will bring about some sort of peace...

hmmmmm.......well from the looks of that blog it is snowwhite who is actually the root cause of all this problem. her marxist ideals have tainted the poor hard working dwarves minds and forced them away from open ended consumerism.isn\\\'t it typical of all leftsists, even though they might be deep in sleep for the better part of a decade their atavistic ideas still ruin the broth for every one else.just like our country\\\'s communist parties at the centre.for years people like jyoti basu and buddhadeb bhattacharjee embraced market capitalisation behind closed doors(they are closet market reformists posing as democracts in the guise of marxists) . when people in their own party do it is a trivial issue but give them a chance to form a centre coalition and now they wanna be the proverbial fly in the ointment irrespective of what the issue is.and if they don\\\'t have a genuine issue to deal with then they\\\'ll go and harass some poor baba and claim that his medicines contain human bone.i mean gimme a break.maybe if snow white was latin american then maybe things would be different.(no offence shruthi didn\\\'t pose that remark towards u in any way) just that 80% of latin and south america is ruled by leftsist parties and they don\\\'t seem to have any hassles in reforming their economies and embracing free trade.why then are the indain parties so two faced. at the state level the likes of bhattacharjee and O.chandy are given a free hand to do whatever they want as long as it keeps the vote bank happy and at the centre it\\\'s all party ideologies and politburo meetings and not much in the way of reform.
am i expected to react to a fairy tale concoted by my fellow blogger to suit his own point of view?
its strange how one can have such an antagonistic attitude to somebody who doesn't conform to one's stand...poor snowhite has been potrayed as the root of this problem.
just making a few things clear:
1. i'm not a leftist. i'm still making up my mind, although as an ideology 'socialism' does appeal to me...
2.i'm not here to defend left politics, i know there are many flaws in implementation...the few examples quoted here are typical of those who "took the red flag dipped in blood and made it a velvet fur" (courtesy subin dennis)
3. south american economies faced the biggest crisis in their histories essentially because of practicing "free trade" policies...fernando de la rua and domingo cavillo actually recieved a pat on the back by most neo-liberal economists. blinded by promises of the higher growth trajectory "free trade" would enable them to achieve, they found their currency board regimes taking them into a downward spiral which brought such shame that it led to the resignations in rapid successions of those who instated it in the first place.
4. let me not even get started on the hypocrisies that other parties of our system are replete with...trying to build a case by picking few exceptions is hardly making a point

ouch i seem to have struck a chord there.well to start with why is it that all of a sudden it\'s become fashionable to be seen supporting socialism.(i\'m not saying that u\'re following this mindless craze) but since when did socialism bcom become a fad? i mean losse fit jeans were a fad,hipsters were a fad who in god\'s name can say that they\'re \'dabbling\' with socialism?(once again i\'m not pointing this towards u in particular.....by this point of time i think i\'ve made it pretty clear how shit scared i am of u,but i think i shld be relatively safe as long as i don\'t enter the NCR area.)
as for the bit about the latin american countries it wasn\'t \'free trade\' that wrecked their economies it was the hegomony of the americans who destroyed their economies and virtually obilerated the cocoa trade to contain cocaine smuggling.and anyway i brought out the point about the latin american countires as a constructive example of how the left parties should be operating. just as u say that u approve of socailism, i\'m not saying that i \'m strongly against it,but with the purview of the indian sub-continent and all the good that has come out of embracing free market capitalism i seriously doubt that socialism as a form of economic governance would fit india. india is a welfare state and the fact that it has a public sector is a great boon of sorts to the people of india but the day and age of nehruvian socialism is past.we have to look forward towards newer markets and newer oppurtunities and not towards some economic theory steeped in ideologies and not much in the way of implementation.things like the planning commission and five year plans are things that we need to imbibe from socialism and incorporate into our own structure and not the other way round of having a leftsit structure with a few spots of capitalist experimentation.
oh and btw ,why is it that the comment that i wrote abt morality failed to elicit a response from u but even a slight mention abt socialism got u to fire off a reply in an instant. i guess u are just a lot more diffident abt ur \'experiments\' with socialism than u are abt ur moral values.
1.socialism...a fad?? thats news to me...most of my friends feel very uncomfortable even at the menion of it...esp those that come from that class of society which wants to maintain status quo. what is a fad my dear friend is 'neo liberalism' and thomas friedman's books on olive trees and a flat world...those who qoute him should reconsider their point of view...his books lack any substantial arguments whatsoever!
2. your understanding of the south american crisis is incorrect...it was esentially the free trade practices which were based ona currency board regime that fixed the peso to the dollar that led to a collapse of their economies...u need to study more than just glossy journals to realize that...if u still don't understand then dikshant might elucidate (for all u know he'll pretend he didn't get it too)
3.what capitalism has served to do mr. kaalu is to obscure from ur point of view the masses that have been suffering and silenced...u must be blind to think that "free market capitalism" has done us good. i'm sure your fancy business schools will also teach u just that. all u need is a reality check. these very economies that preach free trade have had the longest histories of protection, and ask us to get rid of subsidies when they follow one of the heaviest subsidization progs for their own goods.
4. i believe that an incentive based system of socialism will have to be evoloved in order to be put to successful practice...i'm not suggesting mistakes of the past be repeated.
5.your comment on morality was hardly a take on mine. to be very honest, i think it was rather incoherrent. i was just being polite by ignoring it. next time i refrain from responding to your comments, please don't misinterpret my silence.
6.in the heat of these arguments i must have gotten a little carried away. i think its important we be open to all views that are well substantiated before resorting to sarcasm. like i said i'm still making up my mind. i think it would be good for u if you are slightly less rigid and try hearing the other side of the story. read some real authors for a change!

ok at the outset i agree my last comment was more outta spite than anything else.so as u said we shld try and be a bit more forthcoming on various issues but i still can not really see eye to eye with u on a few issues i guess.
1. the deal about socialism being a fad is true. ok not too many of ur friends might be into it , but the fact still remains it\\\\\\\'s becoming a lot more fashionable to discuss and write about socialism all of a sudden. though people still shy away from it they don\\\\\\\'t mind discussing it as long as they themselves don\\\\\\\'t have to take it up.now is this change just bcoz of the left parties in power at the centre and people wanna sound in tune with the times or is it something deeper ? i wouldn\\\\\\\'t go so far as to call the masses suffering and silenced, who have suddenly woken up to the need of a newer form of ownership.just as u say that a lotta ppl look at capitalism to preserve their status in society wouldn\\\\\\\'t it be be just as convenient for the masses to look up to socialism as a means to jump the class gap by dispensing with the classes outright.
2. i\\\\\\\'m still not down with the bit about capitalism obscuring my viewpoint or whatever.if there was such a dire and desperate need for an overhaul i think it would be kinda like a in ur face kinda problem that everybody would see, yet in this case all i hear is the voice of a minority,and a large part of this minority is also just ppl clamoring for attention.
3.hmmmmm.......now ur take on the incentive based socialism thing is intriguing.been doin a bit of reading on parecon-participatory economy but that too seems really impractical.what exactly are u propounding?
4.and finally , ur comments on my reading habits and all were totally uncalled for. u hardly know me and the fact still remains that u are an economics major and i\\\\\\\'m an engineer so i might not be aware of all the modalities, but i do have my own opinions and i stand by them(until proven wrong). now if u can prove me wrong u you are more than welcome to try but don\\\\\\\'t just assume that u got me all figured out and can dismiss me like that.
